There is a deeper dimension of Yoga that invites us inward to listen, breathe, rest and become more fully present. Deepen Your Yoga Path is a training series designed for yoga teachers, dedicated practitioners, and curious seekers who are ready to embody the deeper dimensions of Yoga as a lived practice through immersive study of Nada Yoga, Pranayama and Yoga Nidra.

“The purpose of yoga is
self-knowledge.”

 — Shri Brahmananda Sarasvati

At Ananda Ashram, from practice we learn to teach

Whether taken individually or as part of the complete series, you are invited to explore three foundational pathways into the subtle practices of Yoga. The series offers an opportunity to deepen personal practice, and thoughtfully integrate the teachings into everyday life.

You create the foundation for your own journey of tuning inward to navigate your life with presence.

What You Will Study

The Yoga of Breath

Pranayama as a Pathway to Awareness

This immersion explores the traditional yogic practice of pranayama as a tool for cultivating awareness, balance, vitality, and preparation for meditation. Through direct experience, you will learn how to approach breath practices in a way that is both grounded in tradition and sustainable for your own practice. You will leave with a deeper understanding of prana and breath awareness, experience with foundational practices, a personalized pranayama practice and the ability to integrate breath practice, into teaching.

The Yoga of Sound

Mantra, Nada Yoga & The Art of Listening

Through direct experience, you will have the opportunity to discover your own relationship with sound, vibration, and silence as a pathway to meditation, awareness, and connection. You will explore the ways sound has been used within the Yoga tradition, including using the voice and other sound tools. You will leave with a deeper understanding of sound-based yoga practices, direct experience with mantras, devotional chanting, and simple sound tools, and tools for bringing sound into your own personal practice.

The Yoga of Rest

Yoga Nidra The Art of Conscious Rest

Yoga Nidra offers us the space to practice deep and conscious rest. You will explore the foundations of traditional Yoga Nidra (also known as yogic sleep), including the stages of practice, the importance of Sankalpa, and understanding the importance of this practice as a pathway for inner transformation, restoration, and integration. You will leave with a deeper understanding of Yoga Nidra, experience with its various stages and approaches, how to practice Yoga Nidra on your own so you can explore conscious rest, and how to effectively share Yoga Nidra with others.
