Parent & Child Day at Ananda Ashram: Yoga, Mindfulness and Nature

10:00 AM - 12:30 PM
$40
Hosted by a group of inspired Ashram teachers and mothers, our recurring children's program introduces age-appropriate aspects of yogic lifestyle: music, art, dance, yama/niyama (principles of good living), karma yoga (selfless service), care for the body and mind (breathing, deep relaxation and mindfulness exercises to manage anxiety), and simple introduction to yoga philosophy (Sanskrit language and chanting of verses).
We aim to plant the seeds of self-confidence, self-inquiry, self-expression, mindfulness, and to foster ethical relationships with others, rooted in the Ashram Yogic tradition.
Planned activities include: Sanskrit mantra and chanting; hatha yoga; and mythology study (Ramayana reading and re-enactment, includes a craft activity).
This recurring program is organized and taught by members of the Ananda Ashram community.
