We welcome Children and Parents to join our Childrens’ Autumnal Day of Celebration.

It is a day of art, yoga, music, dance, outdoor fun games, Sanskrit and other exciting activities at the Ashram, hosted by a group of inspired Ashram teachers and mothers.

We offer a safe environment with stimulating and challenging activities, presented in a child-friendly manner, encouraging playfulness and respect for oneself and others.

In our recurring Childrens’ programs we aim to plant seeds of self-confidence, self-inquiry, self-expression and mindfulness and to foster ethical relationships with others, rooted in the Ashram Yogic tradition.

The program includes various aspects of yogic lifestyle: music, art, dance, yama/niyama (principles of good living), karma yoga (selfless service), care for the body and mind (breathing, deep relaxation and mindfulness exercises to manage anxiety), and simple introduction to yoga philosophy (Sanskrit language and chanting of verses).

Activities incorporate love of Nature (our sacred Mother Earth), group yoga, mantra and self-expression through music and art forms, encouraging discipline, creativity and fun. Children will be introduced to the dynamic discipline of Kathak Dance (drumming with one's feet) by the director of Ananda Ashram’s School of Dance.

A single theme will be chosen to guide the day’s events, with various Ashram teachers leading sessions related to the theme. For September 28, the theme is the verse: Sarvesham svastir bhavatu….(May All be healthy, peaceful, prosperous).

This program will end at 3:45 PM. Please dress appropriately if rainy weather is expected. Outdoor activities will continue as planned.

What to Bring:
Any special snacks,
A blanket to lay on the earth,
Insect and tick repellent,
Sun hat or rain gear (depending on the weather),
Layers to wear outdoors.

You can request the Schedule for the day.

Please feel free to contact Tara with any of your questions and needs: tarafederman@gmail.com.
