SUMMARY:Sound of Light Experience with Radhika Vekaria
DESCRIPTION:Admission: $40 / Concert + Workshop: $75 \nEarly Bird Special\nConcert $35\, Concert + Workshop: $70 \nRegister Here \nAn immersive live performance of voice\, drone\, rhythm\, and contemporary song\, The Sound of Light Experience unfolds as a carefully composed musical arc rooted in Sanskrit tradition and reimagined through a modern sonic lens. \nGrammy-nominated composer and vocalist Radhika Vekaria brings together invocation\, original works\, and text-based compositions in an evening that bridges ancient resonance with contemporary form. Layered textures\, melodic architecture\, and dynamic interplay between musicians create a performance that is both intimate and expansive. \nFeaturing Steve Gorn and John McDowell\, with Angela Hassan and Priya Luna Spadea. \nWith an invitation of collective voice\, this a theatrical presentation of song as living practice — structured\, intentional\, and alive in the present moment. \nThe result is a deeply felt musical journey that invites attentive listening\, shared resonance\, and a renewed encounter with the power of the human voice. \nRadhika Vekaria is a Grammy-nominated vocalist\, composer\, and cross-cultural concert artist whose work bridges ancient Vedic sound principles with contemporary cinematic composition. Born in East Africa to Indian heritage and working internationally\, she creates architecturally structured musical experiences that explore consciousness\, devotion\, and the subtle mechanics of inner transformation. \nHer acclaimed album Warriors of Light received Grammy® consideration in the Best New Age\, Ambient\, and Chant category\, marking a defining chapter in her evolution as a concept-driven artist. Each body of work is constructed as a cohesive sonic arc – weaving mantra with the contemporary\, storytelling depth\, and live instrumentation into performances that move between intimacy and magnitude. \nAt the core of her practice is a rigorous study of sound through Vedic principles: precision of mantra\, disciplined recitation\, breath\, rhythm\, and the internalisation of vibration (Nāda). From this foundation emerges what she describes as a depth of “freeform” expression – where structure and surrender coexist. The improvisatory passages in her concerts are not casual departures\, but the flowering of studied form. Freedom arises from refinement. \nAs a performer and equally at home at the piano or standing center stage\, Radhika moves between austere vocal invocation and lush\, immersive soundscapes. Sanskrit text and philosophy inform her compositions\, yet they are rendered through a refined\, contemporary lens that speaks across cultures and generations. \nShe collaborates with Gaja Yoga in offering sound-based mantras and instruction rooted in these principles – inviting participants into a deeper relationship with vibration\, voice\, and interior stillness. \nWhether in concert halls\, sacred spaces\, immersive art environments\, or teaching\, Radhika crafts experiences that feel at once ancient and immediate – where sound becomes both architecture and awakening. \nFor more information click here.
