  • Classics of Advaita Vedānta: Laghu Yogavāsiṣṭha – An Ongoing Series with Deven Patel*

    This ongoing weekly workshop series (via Zoom) explores the Laghu Yogavāsiṣṭha, a version of 6,000 verses abridged by the poet Abhinanda from the larger Yogavāsiṣṭha (36,000 verses). A popular classic of Advaita Vedānta philosophy, the Laghu Yogavāsiṣṭha is a beautiful poem in the form of a dialogue between Sage Vasiṣṭha and Śrī Rāma, tackling the problems of human suffering, of life and death, including the way forward in turbulent times.

    This ongoing series uses different critical Yogic teachings, with a focus on biomedical and neuroscience connections, from Vedantic, Jain and Buddhist perspectives. Each time, the stage will be set with an exploration of different meditation techniques, to create a readiness for Svādhyāya (Self-study) and Bhāvana (contemplation). Group meditation with other seekers creates a very special energy. Our meditation practices and understanding of things are enriched when connected with systematic exploration of ancient and modern ideas on consciousness, brain and learning.

  • Music Learning & Discovery with Arjun Verma*

    A three-day immersion workshop on the melodious sounds of North Indian Classical Music. Learn fundamentals as well as deeper levels of rāga (melodic forms), tāla (rhythm cycles), rhythmic phrasing, vocal and instrumental styles of music, training methods, musicality, performance aesthetics and universal concepts of music, all through the lens of classical repertoire.

    Join Isabel for a plant walk focused on edible wild plants. We will learn what is good to eat, how to identify it, and when and how to harvest. Putting our new found skills into practice, we will explore and harvest together. After the harvest, we will learn how to prepare the plants into delicious, nourishing dishes and drinks, creating a wild foraged meal, which we will enjoy together.
