Cultivating an Attitude of Gratitude - A Thanksgiving Yoga Workshop with Vimala *
10:00 AM to 12:00 PM
Suggested Donation: $25
Come together in community to celebrate Thanksgiving and cultivate gratitude!
The intention of this practice will be to appreciate every moment. Feel the breath in your lungs and the air on your skin, and the movements that feel good in your body. Slow down the pace of life as we head into the winter season.
Let’s focus on the blessings of life, making our poses an offering. Sending love and positive light through our sun salutations, our every breath, to those who may be going through difficult times. We will discuss ways to cultivate more gratitude in daily life.
After moving through some gentle yoga sequences, we’ll end with rest, digest and repair poses. Culminating in candle-lit shavāsana and silent meditation.
Vimala Devi (Tammy Quinn) began her practice of Yoga in 2008 and realized soon that Yoga was much more than physical exercise. Her passion for Yoga led her to take the 200 hour “Life of a Yogi” teacher training with Sri Dharma Mittra in 2011. She began visiting Ananda Ashram in 2013 in an effort to continue her study of asana, Yoga-Vedanta philosophy and meditation. More recently, Vimala completed a 300-hour Yoga Alliance Certification and is now designated as a 500RYT and YACEP (Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider). Her style of teaching is a classic approach, incorporating asana, pranayama (breathing techniques), chanting, and the basic principles of Yoga.
