Navaratri: Celebration of Devi, Cosmic Energy
The nine days and nights of Navarātri are considered an important time for physical, mental and spiritual purification and transformation. Cosmic energy is personified and invoked here as Devī or Durgā, Mother of the universe, vanquishing in battle all the demons or forces of darkness and ignorance.
Friday, October 15, is called Vijayā Dashamī, the “Day of Victory” and Conclusion of Navarātri.
Daily: 9:00 AM Fire Ceremony, Meditation & Mantras with Translation, followed by Sanskrit Chanting of the Devī Māhātmyam with Guru's Recordings beginning at 10:15 AM.
Evening programs with chanting and readings on the theme of Devi -- details to be announced.
Navaratri Celebration Special, Oct 7-15:
Most of the morning programs will be streamed via Ananda Ashram Live on Facebook.
Visitors are welcome to attend any of the morning or evening programs in person, but must call the office to register before Thursday, October 7 (or at least one day prior to their visit). Proof of vaccination is required.
These programs are by open donation.
