Part I - July 19-22, Tue - Fri:

July 19, Tue
10:30AM-12:30PM Foods & Moods
The ancient teachings of Ayurveda tell us that our emotional state has a dramatic impact on our physical health. Dr. Lad has observed, “Emotions are like mangoes. We have to learn to ripen them and then juice them. When emotions are juiced, they are deeply nourishing.” In this seminar you will learn how to treat emotional imbalances through diet and lifestyle.

2:30-4:30PM Hasta Samudrika: Your Life Is in Your Hands
The palm provides a map for understanding the physiological and psychological landscape of an individual. It can reveal a person’s unique strengths and weaknesses, why certain patterns of behavior or thought are difficult to change, and what subtle therapies may best serve us or others on the journey to health and wholeness. Dr. Lad will teach ways to utilize the palm as an alternative diagnostic tool, including how to recognize and interpret significant lines, mounds, moles, shapes and even planetary influences.

July 20, Wed
10:30AM-12:30PM Marmani for Unfolding Inner Beauty
Marmani (the marma points) are vital energy points that are used diagnostically and therapeutically. Topics will include the classification of marmani and their anatomical locations, assessment of internal organs through the marmani, their relationship with kundalini and the seven chakras, and healing oils used in marma chikitsa.

2:30-4:30PM Gemstones & Metals for Self-Healing
Ayurveda uses the healing power of gemstones and metals to purify, strengthen and nourish the body, mind and consciousness. Dr. Lad will share how gems and precious stones can be used to support health and wellbeing through their electromagnetic properties and how they can be worn to enliven the chakras. He will teach the qualities of the seven important metals and their effects on tissues, organs and the doshas.

July 21, Thu
10:30AM-12:30PM Mind & Disease - An Ayurvedic Approach to Psychiatric Disorders
The mind reflects a person’s inner strength, their sensitivity, intellect and emotional status. An over-powerful mind can hinder and suppress emotions and physical symptoms. A hypersensitive mind can be so delicate that even the smallest discomfort causes a very strong reaction. The normal, balanced mind honestly reflects and expresses the individual’s feelings and emotions.

2:30-4:30PM Autoimmune Disorders & Their Management
Autoimmunity is the condition in which the body fails to identify self from non-self. The immune system does not differentiate the antigens from the healthy body tissues and it attacks and destroys the healthy tissues. Ama (toxicity) that chronically resides in the cell membrane can bring about an attack on the body’s immune system. Dr. Lad will present Ayurvedic concepts to help demystify autoimmune disease as well as herbs that support management of autoimmune disorders.

July 22, Fri
10:30AM-12:30PM Vastu Shastra (Vedic Architecture)
The seminar will examine environmental and family health and healing with special reference to Vastu Shastra. This ancient science recognizes that the space contained within the walls of a house or structure is filled with geomagnetic vibrations. Magnetic and solar energies constantly influence our relationships, thoughts, emotions and health. Dr. Lad will elaborate on this science of healing, happiness and health.

2:30-4:30PM Guided Meditation with Dr. Lad
Meditation opens the doors to higher consciousness and changes the qualities of one’s individual consciousness. Dr. Lad guides and encourages us: “Life with meditation is a flowering of bliss and beauty. Meditation brings harmony to body, mind and consciousness. Simply surrender to your environment and remain in the present moment.”

Part II - July 22-24, Fri eve - Sun:

July 22, Fri
8:30PM Inspirational Evening Talk by Dr. Lad

July 23, Sat
10:30AM-12:30PM Jyotish (Vedic Astrology)
The stars do not rule our destiny. They merely record a destiny that has already been formed. As a science and as an art form, astrology is the study of the subtle energies that are influencing a situation at a given time. Jyotish together with a medical history provides a map to determine the best practices to regain health, mitigate tendencies toward stress and enhance your vitality. It indicates when to be watchful for health related challenges. You will learn to read a vedic astrological chart from an Ayurvedic perspective, how to ascertain psychological or physical weaknesses contributing to a disease process and how to improve your wellbeing.

2:30-4:30PM How to Protect Yourself from Invisible & Unknown Viruses
The concept of immunity according to Ayurveda involves four physiological factors:
ama (toxicity), agni (the digestive capacity), dosha (the balance of physiology), and ojas (the physical principle of immunity equivalent to T-cells). When these factors are healthy and balanced, then the person is strong and happy and lives a long life.

July 24, Sun
10:30AM-12:30PM Sound Healing / Healing with Mantra
Mantras are syllables, words or groups of words that illumine and awaken consciousness, bringing clarity, understanding, stillness, peace and prolonged concentration. Sounds convey a message to the body, mind and spirit that is beyond the scope of the intellectual or verbal mind. Ayurveda uses certain sounds for healing, and certain mantras have the hidden potential to unfold the heart’s truth and bring happiness, bliss and enlightenment through their extraordinary power of healing and transformation.

2:30-4:30PM Ganesha Puja & Bhajans
The Sanskrit word puj means to make holy, sacred. To become puj means to become zero. While performing puja (ceremonial worship), a communication is developed between the Supreme or Brahman and the individual consciousness. Puja brings a happy, holy environment. We offer flowers as a symbol of the innocent mind, incense as a symbol of breath, the flame of a ghee lamp as a symbol of individual life, and water as a symbol of plasma. Dr. Lad will perform a Ganesha Puja and chant bhajans.
