Each cell in our body possesses its own intelligence and speaks to us through the language of pulsation and vibration. With guidance, practice and sensitive awareness, you can learn to detect through the pulse the present state of the doshas and indications of future imbalance.

10:30AM-12:30PM The Guiding Principles of Ayurvedic Nutrition - Shad Rasa -
The six tastes in nature are: sweet, sour, salty, pungent, bitter and astringent. Ayurveda teaches that foods and spices have a unique taste that relates to their digestive action. Our ‘sweet’ experiences can also bring feelings of well being, while ‘bitter’ experiences can have adverse effects.

2:00-4:00PM Food & Diet in Ayurveda
It is important to remember that our body is made of the food we eat. In this class you will learn how to balance your constitution through a wise choice of food, diet and minerals, and learn about foods that are especially strong in promoting various healing processes of the body.

Your kitchen can be a valuable domestic resource for your family’s health. Students will learn the natural preventative and therapeutic properties of common kitchen herbs and spices, as well as some important household items to keep on hand for non-emergency illnesses and first aid.

2:00-4:00PM Skin Health & Beauty from an Ayurvedic Perspective
Ayurveda considers beauty to be an intimate part of the personality. The health and beauty of the skin is influenced by changes in the balance of the doshas. Ayurveda uses herbs internally and externally to bring nourishment to the skin and to awaken its natural health and beauty.

Prana is our vital breath and the bridge between body, mind and consciousness. Dr. Lad will share this ancient knowledge, as it applies to Ayurveda, with a special series of breathing exercises designed to bring maximum benefit for physical, mental and spiritual health and vitality.

2:00-4:00PM Anatomy of Vibrational Healing
“Everything in Life is Vibration” – Albert Einstein
Everything around us is made of energy, and each atom has its own distinct sound and frequency. Dr. Lad will lead an exploration into the fascinating topic of vibrational therapeutics and its application in many of the Ayurvedic subtle therapies.

10:30AM-12:30PM Balancing the Chakras through Dynamic Color Therapy
Sunrays contain all seven colors of the rainbow, and each color is connected to the seven chakras. Colors have different wavelengths and frequencies which unfold different qualities of the body and mind. Dr. Lad will share his clinical experience of using color in psychosomatic disorders.

2:00-4:00PM An Ayurvedic Perspective on the Four Pillars of Life
Both Yoga and Ayurveda follow the ancient wisdom of the shastras and the profound life principles known as the purusharthas: dharma, artha, kama and moksha. Our health, wealth and happiness depend on the strength and stability of these four ‘freedoms’.

The ancient sages believed there was a correlation between the visible features of the hand and the conscious, unconscious and superconscious processes of the mind. Dr. Lad will elaborate on the principles of medical palmistry and its application in Ayurvedic diagnosis.

2:30-4:00PM Maintaining Personal Integrity in the Practice of Ayurveda
Intentionality is at the heart of Ayurveda. Right intention creates right attention, right attention creates right awareness, and right awareness creates right action. All work should be performed as sadhana, service.
Dr. Lad will speak on a subject that deeply affects every aspect of our life.
