Jaan R. Freeman

Jaan R. Freeman is the Founding Artistic Director of Dakshina Palli, Inc., an educational and cultural organization preserving the Bharata Natyam lineage of the late great dancer T. Balasaraswati. Freeman is a disciple of Smt. Priyamvada Sankar and Smt. Nandini Ramani and had his Bharata Natyam Arangetram (graduation) in 2005 in NYC. One of two male practitioners performing in that lineage, he has trained in the USA, India and Montreal. Mr. Freeman comes to Indian dance as a modern dancer and choreographer and has performed in India, USA, Poland and Sri Lanka.
