began playing sitar at age six under the tutelage of Pt. Monoj Shankar of the Maihar Gharana School. He first performed on All India Radio at age eleven, and since then regularly at classical music festivals and on television. His creative musical style represents a synthesis of the heritage of sitar masters Pt. Ravi Shankar and Nikhil Banerjee. Partha Bose has gained international reputation by his performances all over Europe, in Canada and the U.S.
