Rumi Circle: "To Be Near" with Nashid Fareed-Ma'at

This program commemorates the "wedding day" of Jalal ad-Din Rumi, the day he passed from his body (December 17, 1273). One of the common themes of Rumi’s works is the exploration of what it means to be Near to the Beloved (the Absolute). The dramatic presentation will feature poetry, stories and sayings from Rumi and his master, Shams al-Tabriz, regarding that theme. It will also incorporate Sufi chanting.
