Devesh Chandra began learning to play Tabla by accompanying his mother, Sitar maestro Veena Chandra. He also had a close relationship with the late Sitar maestro Ustad Vilayat Khan. His approach to the Tabla is the confluence of all the unique influences of his upbringing. Today his innovative and imaginative performances span various genres of music and dance.
