Hand and Facial Marmāni (12:00 – 2:00 PM Eastern Time)

Learn where the marmāni (vital energy points) on the hand and face are located and what their functions are. Marma points can be used as diagnostic tools to prevent doshic disorders and disease. They serve as therapeutic tools restoring balance to the body, mind and spirit. Dr. Lad will demonstrate where the marmāni are and how to utilize these vital points when giving a treatment.

Rasa Vaha Srotas: Its Functions and Management (2:00 - 3:00 PM Eastern Time)

Rasa is the first tissue to be nourished after we eat. It provides nutrients to every cell and tissue of the body. Rasa vaha srotas is the bodily channel that maintains the functions of rasa dhātu, the lymph and plasma tissue. We will learn about all of its functions and how to maintain the health of this nutritional channel. Rasa vaha srotas is the channel responsible for nutrition, nourishment and immunity.

Rakta Vaha Srotas: Its Functions and Management (5:00 – 6:00 PM Eastern Time)

Rakta (blood) is the second bodily tissue. Rakta vaha srotas maintains the functions of our red blood cells and is responsible for oxygenation, energy and our sense of enthusiasm. It is life giving. The liver, spleen, red blood cells, arteries and veins are all affected by rakta vaha srotas.

Meditation and the Mind Relative to our Times (6:00 – 8:00 PM Eastern Time)

Dr. Lad states, “Daily meditation unfolds inner peace, love, and bliss, and a greathappening happens. That happening is the balance between body, mind, and consciousness. Meditation brings perfect health.” Our mental and physical bodies are interconnected. We are influenced mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually by life, its different aspects and how we perceive what we experience through the senses. Learn what herbs can be beneficial for bringing balance to the mind.

This is a LIVE online webinar event streamed from Albuquerque, New Mexico: 10 AM - 1 PM Mountain Daylight Time (12 – 3 PM Eastern Time) and 3 - 6 PM Mountain Daylight Time (5 - 8 PM Eastern Time). There will be time for questions and answers with Dr. Lad at the end of each topic. This event will be recorded, and replay will be available from July 29th to August 11th. (May be eligible for 6 NAMA credits based on a participant’s attendance of all 6 hours of class.)

Vasant Lad, B.A.M. & S., M.A.Sc. is a preeminent Ayurvedic Physician and Professor of Ayurveda who founded the Ayurvedic Institute in Albuquerque, New Mexico, in 1984. Prior to that, he had served as Professor of Clinical Medicine at the Pune University College of Ayurvedic Medicine in India. Dr. Lad holds a degree of Ayurvedic Medicine & Surgery (B.A.M. & S.) from the University of Pune and a Master of Ayurvedic Science (M.A.Sc.) degree from Tilak Ayurved Mahavidyalaya. His training also includes the study of allopathic medicine (Western medicine) and surgery.

Respected throughout the world for his knowledge, Dr. Lad is the author of many articles and books translated into more than 20 languages, including Ayurveda: The Science of Self-Healing, The Textbook of Ayurveda, Vol. 1-3, The Complete Book of Ayurvedic Home Remedies, and Ayurvedic Cooking for Self-Healing. His DVD Pranayama for Self-Healing gives instruction on the practice of breathing exercises.

Presently the Director of the Ayurvedic Institute in New Mexico, Vasant Lad teaches the Ayurvedic Studies Programs, Level 1 and 2. He has traveled extensively, giving seminars and sharing the holistic wisdom of Ayurveda, its history, theory, principles, and practical applications. Dr. Lad conducts advanced Gurukula training programs each year at the Vasanta Institute of Ayurveda, his center in Pune, India.
